Most places I make a point not to stand in line for. However, when there's live music pouring out the door and a perfect mix of locals and tourists creating a space for ideal people watching, I could make an exception for Cafe Alto. It was a small but lively jazz bar in the heart of Amsterdam. One of the many joints my boyfriend and I hit up on our quest for good music and a chance to get out of the rain.
